Description
Polycarbonate Flat Sheet UV2
Polycarbonate plastic is one of the toughest plastics out there. It is 20 times stronger than Acrylic or Perspex sheet, and 200 times stronger than glass. So is ideal for safety applications. Further, since it is resistant to chemicals, heat, and flame retardant, it is great for automotive parts.
Polycarbonate sheet is an enhanced UV-resistant sheet with exceptional weatherability and superior impact strength. UV is the perfect choice for for architectural applications where extended service life and resistance to colour shift is required. Polycarbonate sheet is easily thermoformed, fabricated, and decorated. This performance is backed by a 10-year comprehensive warranty against breakage, excessive yellowing, and loss of light transmission. Easy to cut and drill on-site, so easier to work with than acrylic plastic sheet.
Available in clear. Other colours are available on special order.

Polycarbonate Engineering Flat Sheet
- Strength: Polycarbonate is much stronger than acrylic, offering up to 250 times the impact resistance of glass, making it virtually unbreakable.
- Transparency: Polycarbonate also has good transparency (around 88% light transmission), though slightly less than acrylic.
- Scratch Resistance: Polycarbonate is softer and more prone to scratching compared to acrylic.
- UV Resistance: Polycarbonate can yellow over time when exposed to UV light, but UV-resistant coatings can be applied to improve durability in outdoor use.
- Workability: Polycarbonate is more flexible and can be cold-bent without cracking, allowing for greater versatility in installation and fabrication. It’s also easier to cut and drill without breaking.
- Cost: Polycarbonate is generally more expensive than acrylic due to its superior strength and impact resistance.
- Weight: Lighter than glass and usually lighter than acrylic, especially in thinner sheets.
- Applications: Used in safety glazing, protective shields, machine guards, and other high-impact applications where strength and durability are critical.
